Eishinkan (Clear Spirit) reflects our dojo’s approach to training and our ties with Okinawa in support of Grand Master Angi Uezu and Master Chris Chase of the OIKKA (Okinawa Isshinryu Karate Kobudo Association).
瑛心館では沖縄一心流空手古武道協会（OIKKA）の上江洲安儀先生（現名誉会長）、また会クリス・チェース先生（現会長）を師事し支援するべく、日々道場での稽古に励み沖縄との親密な関係を保っています。
We are proud to offer the opportunity to learn this traditional Okinawan martial art to every willing student. To achieve our belief that all people who want to train can train, we design personalized therapy curriculum for people of different needs. Additionally, we frequently organize seminars both within our dojo and out in our local community. Topics in these seminars range from women's self defense, weapons defense, Tai Chi, children's classes, and more.
瑛心館では空手に興味がある、習ってみたい方に沖縄伝統空手の流派の一つである一心流を指導しています。年齢やレベルに合わせた指導を行っており、初心者から経験者の方まで幅広いカリキュラムがあります。道場や地域内でのセミナーも頻繁に開催しています。セミナーでは女性向けの護身術、武器に対する護身術、太極拳、子供向教室などを行っています。

島袋龍夫
After training in Gojuryu, Shoinryu, and Kobudo, Grand Master Tatsuo Shimabuku took the influences of each and founded a new style of karate, Isshinryu, in 1953.
剛柔流、少林流、そして古武道を学んだあと、宗家島袋龍夫先生はそれぞれの流派に影響され、1953年に新しい空手の流派として一心流を創始する。
Master Shimabuku trained many of the American soldiers stationed in Okinawa in this style. Between 1954 and 1962, one such student was Dai Sensei Angus Reynolds, the founder of our dojo.
島袋先生はこの一心流をたくさんの在沖米軍兵達に教えた。1954年から1962年にかけて教えた弟子の一人に、アンガス・レイノルズ先生がいる。レイノルズ先生は当道場の創設者である。

Master Angi Uezu was Grand Master Tatsuo Shimabuku's number one student, and trained with the founder of Isshinryu karate on a daily basis for over 17 years.
上江洲安儀先生は宗家島袋龍夫先生の一番弟子であり、島袋龍夫先生の下で17年以上、毎日稽古した。
Master Uezu authored the book "The Encyclopedia of Isshinryu Karate: Book One, Beginner to Green Belt."
先生の著書には「一心流空手事典其の1：初心者から緑帯まで」がある。
Master Uezu is the former head of and current adviser to the OIKKA (Okinawa Isshinryu Karate Kobudo Association).
上江洲先生は初代会長であり（現名誉会長）、また現OIKKAアドバイザーである。

Master Christpher Chase studied as a protege of Grand Master Angi Uezu and taught in Japan for over 10 years.
クリス・チェース先生は上江洲安儀先生の弟子として一心流を学び、日本にて10年以上指導していた。
As of February 1st, 2007 Master Uezu has appointed Master Chase as his successor and President of the OIKKA.
2007年2月1日、上江洲安儀先生はクリス・チェース先生を後継者、ならびにOIKKAの会長に任命する。
Master Chase travels the world to connect OIKKA dojo and pursue the goals of the organization.
チェース先生は世界中のOIKKA道場を訪れ、協会としての目標を追及している。

John Overton

ジョン・オバートン
Student of Sensei Angus Reynolds, Sensei John Overton began training with our dojo in 1963.
Sensei Overton became the sole owner of the dojo in 1970. He co-wrote the training manual with Sensei Quitman Hawkins that we use to this day.
アンガス・レイノルズ先生の弟子の1人であるジョン・オバートン先生は当道場に1963年に入門した。
1970年に当道場のオーナーとなる。先生はクイットマン・ホーキンス先生と現在当道場で使用している稽古マニュアルを著した。

Robert (Bob) Herron

In October of 1969, Dai Sensei Robert (Bob) Herron began training at the World Fighting Arts Isshinryu Karate Dojo where he achieved the rank of Shodan in March of 1974.
Sensei Herron successfully competed in tournaments for 14 years in both the United States and Canada.
In 1991, Master Uezu stated that Sensei Herron would carry on the teachings of Sensei Overton after his passing.
In 2003, Sensei Herron was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
ボブ・ヘロン先生は1969年10月、当道場の前身である、ワールド・ファイティング・アーツ・一心流空手道場に入門、1974年3月に初段になる。
1991年には上江洲先生に故オバートン先生の後継者として任命した。
2003年には一心流殿堂に殿堂入りした。

Soke Fitch lived in Pensacola and, in addition to training, he was a naturopathic healer who helped chronically ill people improve their health.
Soke Fitch taught the Chinese martial art of Chuan Fa and White Crane Style Tai Chi.
In the 1980's Soke Fitch mentored several Karate and Kickboxing world champions.
In 2009, Soke Fitch was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
宗家デニス・フィッチ先生は米国フロリダ州ペンサコーラに住んでおられ、武道の稽古の他に、慢性患者を対象に自然療法による治療をしていた。
先生は中国拳法や白鶴式太極拳を教えた。
1980年代には複数名の空手家やキックボクサーの世界チャンピオン達を指導した。
2009年には米国武道殿堂に殿堂入りした。

Sensei Bert Ross studied Isshinryu under the Sensei Willie Adams. In 1968, he earned his first degree Black Belt and began teaching Karate.
Over the next 35 years, Sensei Ross devoted his life to the martial arts. In mid 1996, he began training under Master Angi Uezu.
In April 2003, Sensei Ross was inducted into the Karate Hall of Fame.
バート・ロス先生はウィリー・アダムス先生の下で一心流を学んだ。1968年に初段になり指導を始めた。
以降35年間、先生は生涯を武道に捧げていた。1996年中頃には上江洲安儀先生の下で稽古を開始した。
2003年には空手殿堂に殿堂入りした。

After the passing of Dai Sensei Robert (Bob) Herron, Sensei Bill Strong has continued his spirit of training as the head of Eishinkan.
Sensei Strong has more than 35 years of experience in the arts and continues to focus on maintaining the philosophies and physical disciplines of "the old ways," Sensei Strong travels to Okinawa to ensure our strong ties to the island and its culture.
ビル・ストロング先生は、故ロバート（ボブ）・ヘロン先生の後継者として、また瑛心館の館長として一心流の指導をしている。
先生は一心流にて35年以上の経験があり、古き武道の考え方や鍛錬の仕方を忠実に守られ、また沖縄に足を運び沖縄との親密な関係を大切にしている。

Sensei Josh Watson has trained Isshinryu under Sensei Bill Strong starting in 2006. He has been an instructor and teacher at Eishinkan since 2012.
ジョシュ・ワトソン先生はビル・ストロング先生の下で2006年から一心流を学ぶ。2012年より瑛心館の指導員および先生として一心流を指導している。
Sensei Ronnie Coleman has started training with a friend who was a Black Belt in American Shaolin Kung Fu in 1993. He met Sensei Herron and Sensei Strong in April 1995 and started training in Isshinryu under Sensei Herron and Sensei Strong. He earned the first degree black belt (Shodan) in 2004 and the fourth degree (Yondan) in 2020. My most memorable moment was receiving my Green Belt from Master Uezu.
ロニー・コールマン先生は1993年にアメリカン少林クンフーの黒帯であった友人からアメリカン少林功夫を学ぶ。1995年にボブ・ヘロン先生とビル・ストロング先生と出会い、その下で一心流を学ぶ。2004年に初段、2020年に四段に昇段する。先生にとって一番思い出に残っている出来事は、上江洲安儀先生から緑帯を授与されたことである。
Sensei Mike Beltrami began his Isshinryu training in 1985.
He joined Eishinkan in 2015, where he studies and teaches Isshinryu under Sensei Bill Strong.
マイク・ベルトラミ先生は1985年から一心流を学ぶ。2015年からhは瑛心館にて、ビル・ストロング先生の下で一心流を学び指導している。
Sensei Toshihiko Susuki started Isshinryu in January 2012. In Mach 2018, he earned the first degree black belt and joined Eishinkan on July 17, 2018 and studies/teaches Isshinryu under Sensei Bill Strong.
薄俊彦先生は2012年1月から一心流を学ぶ。2018年3月初段に昇段し、2018年7月17日から瑛心館にて、ビル・ストロング先生の下で一心流を学び指導している。
He is from Gifu, Japan.
先生は岐阜県出身。

Classes・入門案内
Please come and check us out while we train free of charge! There will always be a Sensei happy to speak with you, and you can watch us work to see if our system could be a fit for you.
体験入門、見学はいつでも歓迎します。ご質問がある場合は、お気軽にお声掛けください。
Adult classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:15 pm to 9:00 pm in the Kiwanis Center of the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department.
大人の部のクラスは毎週火曜日と木曜日の午後7:15～9:00、ファイエット郡パーク・レクリエーション課の施設であるキワニス・センターで行っています。
To join, there is a monthly fees of $45.00 for residents of Fayette County and $67.50 for non-residents.
月謝はファイエット郡の在住者は45ドル、非在住者は65ドルになります。

入門を希望される方は、ファイエット郡パーク・レクリエーションホームページで登録出来ます。
Otherwise you can visit their office 8 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday to register and pay in person.
またはファイエット郡パーク・レクリエーション課のオフィス（営業時間は月－金8:00～17:00）で登録する事もできます。
We now also have a Kid's Class (ages 7 - 15)! Every Thursday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The registration process is the same as the Adult Classes.
子供の部のクラス（年齢：7～15歳）は毎週木曜日の午後6:00～7:00、ファイエット郡パーク・レクリエーション課の施設であるキワニス・センターで行っています。
To join, there is a monthly fees of $22.00 for residents of Fayette County and $33 for non-residents.
月謝はファイエット郡の在住者は22ドル、非在住者は33ドルになります。
